SFUFA is a non-profit Society under the BC Societies Act, and is governed ultimately by its members. An elected board manages the affairs of the Association between General Meetings, and hires staffpeople to administer the day to day work of the organization.
As per the SFUFA Constitution and By-Laws, the Executive Committee is comprised of:
8 directors, at least one of who is elected from among members with Teaching Apppointments and at least one of whom is elected among Librarians and Archivists.
The ultimate authority of the organization is always its members, who may provide direction to the Executive through duly-constituted referenda or votes, or through a vote at a duly-constituted meeting of the Association.
